Cheryl T. Schiele

After receiving a degree in music industry from James Madison University, Cheryl Schiele embarked on a career dedicated to supporting artists and organizations serving their communities through the arts. Her professional experience includes program and events management positions at site-specific venues such as Bargemusic in Brooklyn, NY, a renovated coffee barge turned concert venue moored under the Brooklyn Bridge and presenting chamber music year-round, the performing arts center Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts situated on a 117 acre national park in Vienna, VA, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, both a national monument and living memorial. As a Folk & Traditional Arts Specialist at the National Endowment for the Arts, Cheryl manages the grant portfolios of the NEA National Heritage Fellowships—the nation’s highest honor in folk & traditional arts and the state arts agency partnership grants committed to folk & traditional arts infrastructure.
