We are pleased to announced that Dorian Baroque is now a registered 501(c)(3)  non-profit organization, incorporated in the state of New York! As an early music performing arts organization, Dorian Baroque, Inc. does it all — orchestral concerts, chamber music, opera, choral masterpieces, and educational outreach. Most of our concerts have been free and all have been driven by the purpose of sharing our passion for historical instruments and early performance practices.

Raising the organization hasn’t been easy and the collective effort has been massive. Musicians have donated their time rehearsing and performing; friends and neighbors have moved heavy harpsichords all around the city; volunteers have manned the box office, taken publicity photos, offered legal and accounting services, and helped us develop a website. The support has been tremendous and has helped us flourish and grow.  Our next orchestral concert is coming up fast and we need your support to make it happen!

In Drury Lane will debut in April 2015 and is our most ambitious project yet.  This orchestral concert will feature no less than 16 musicians performing incidental theater music of England with all the great composers you would expect – Purcell, Avison, Boyce, Locke, and Handel.

Dorian Baroque’s mission is to engage the listener with dynamic performances, educate young musicians on a historical approach to music making and draw a broad audience to the compelling sound of period instruments. With your support we could be on our way to becoming a self sustained entity and continue to provide dynamic programming. Please consider our GoFundMe campaign and make your tax-deductible contribution today!
