Anneke Schaul-Yoder

Anneke Schaul-Yoder (cello) studied at Yale University, the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, and the Mannes College of Music with Marcy Rosen and Julia Lichten. Anneke is the solo/continuo cellist for a number of early music groups, including SIREN Baroque, the Morningside Opera Company, OperaRepo, and Uncommon Temperament. She participated in the American Bach Soloists Festival during the summer of 2011, and in 2009 she completed a four-month residency at the Banff Centre, performing and recording in both modern and period styles. Anneke is also a member of the Piano Music & Song Trio, a trumpet/cello/piano trio specializing in original orchestrations of art songs from all eras and genres. As a chamber musician and principal cellist with various freelance ensembles, Anneke performs regularly at New York’s major concert halls. She also records and collaborates with members of Arcade Fire, TV on the Radio, Antibalas, and the Sway Machinery. To get in touch with her literary side, she does freelance editing work for Carnegie Hall and the Oxford University Press.
